Labrador, a reader’s guide by Robin McGrath was recently reviewed in Arctic, the scholarly journal of the Arctic Institute of North America, at the University of Calgary.
Reviewer M. McKenna had much praise for the book, calling it “compelling and thought provoking,” “very readable,” and “pitch-perfect and even teacherly,” with “fresh opinions and new facts from her own research or personal ties with the figures and contexts she writes about.” McKenna confirms that Labrador, a reader’s guide belongs in the “category of good reads that should be on what [McGrath] describes as your no-you-can’t-borrow-it bookshelf.”
McKenna also praised the production: “Comfortable in the hand and with clear typescript, it is also well written, well designed, and carefully edited.” That is what we aim for at Brack and Brine! (And we should stress that Labrador, a reader’s guide is indeed a Brack and Brine title, mistakenly identified by Arctic as published by our distribution partner, Memorial University Press.)
